How to stay secure on the go with it360

As summer kicks into full gear, many professionals find themselves working from new locations—whether it’s a vacation rental, a hotel lobby, or the occasional airport gate. While flexible work environments can boost morale and productivity, they also introduce a new wave of cybersecurity risks. We want to make sure your team stays protected no matter where work takes them.

Working outside the office, especially over public or unsecured Wi-Fi networks, can expose sensitive company data to cyber threats. That’s why we strongly recommend using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) any time you connect to the internet while traveling. A VPN encrypts your connection, helping to shield your data from prying eyes—even on public networks.

Whenever possible, avoid using public Wi-Fi entirely. It’s often unencrypted and an easy target for hackers looking to intercept passwords, emails, and other confidential information. If a public connection is your only option, be extra cautious: don’t access sensitive documents or log in to critical systems unless you’re using a secure VPN.

Device security is just as important as network security. Make sure laptops, tablets, and phones are password-protected, set to auto-lock quickly, and never left unattended in public places. Losing a device during travel is all too common—and if it’s not properly secured, it could become a major liability.

To strengthen your defenses, be sure to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all key accounts. It adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second form of identity verification before access is granted. And, in case a device does go missing, having remote wipe capabilities in place can be a game-changer. This feature allows you to erase sensitive data from a lost or stolen device, protecting your business even in worst-case scenarios.

At IT360, we’re here to help your team stay productive—and protected—on the go. Whether you need help setting up VPNs, rolling out 2FA, or enabling remote wipe across your devices, our team can make sure your security strategy travels just as well as you do. Contact us today to ensure your summer flexibility doesn’t come at the cost of your cybersecurity.

Ask Rami:

Question: “Where do I even begin with AI & Automations?”

Answer: Start by spotting that single repetitive chore your team does over and over again – every team has them. Whether it’s filing reports, copying data from Excel, moving files around, or automating a daily or weekly reconciliation report, that’s your launchpad. We’ll help you take that process, build a pilot to prove the concept, and then develop the automation to put time back in your hands.

ABout me:

Hello, my name is Rami. I graduated from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. I continued my studies to earn a master’s degree in computer science, focusing on data analytics and AI. I am part of the AI & Automations team at IT360, where I help clients start their AI journey and build automations of all shapes and sizes, from custom solutions to implementing existing AI systems into their business. Outside of work and the constantly evolving landscape of AI, I enjoy spending time outdoors fishing (which is more like casting, because I don’t do much catching) and tinkering with electronics

Did you know?

Laptops can overheat quickly in the summer—just like your car! Leaving devices in a hot car or direct sunlight can lead to permanent battery damage or hardware failure.

Pro Tip:

Keep your tech shaded, use cooling pads when working outside, and shut down devices when not in use to avoid costly damage.

Cyber Alert: UNFI Supply-Chain Attack Disrupts Grocery Retail

A cyberattack struck United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) — a key supplier to Whole Foods and other grocers — forcing systems offline and causing “temporary supply challenges” and empty shelves across North America. The breach highlights how digital vulnerabilities in critical supply chains can quickly cascade into real-world disruptions. UNFI is restoring operations in phases, but grocers are already seeking alternative vendors. Key takeaway: vendor cybersecurity is no longer optional — it’s essential.

Project spotlight

IT360 recently welcomed a new non-profit organization to our growing list of partners, supporting a team of 14 users with a complete technological transformation. As part of our 360TotalCare Monthly Managed Services, we provided a full onboarding experience that included remote support agent installations, firewall and UPS configurations, and the implementation of a disaster recovery solution. To strengthen security, we deployed best-in-class antivirus and spam prevention tools, managed endpoint detection and response, and cloud activity monitoring. Additionally, we completed a smooth Office 365 email migration to streamline communication across the organization. This project delivered a secure, efficient, and scalable IT infrastructure—allowing the client to focus on their mission with confidence, knowing their technology is in expert hands.
