A mid-year check-in from it360

As we reach the midpoint of 2025, it’s a great time to pause and reflect: is your current IT strategy truly supporting your business goals? We encourage you to use this moment as a strategic checkpoint—to assess performance, identify gaps, and plan with purpose for the second half of the year.

Over the past two quarters, we’ve seen a few common challenges pop up across the organizations we support. Delayed security patches, outdated software, and underutilized tools have slowed productivity and created unnecessary risk. Many teams have also found themselves reacting to IT problems after they pop up instead of proactively managing their infrastructure. These pitfalls are avoidable—with the right roadmap in place.

Looking ahead to Q3 and Q4, there are a few smart steps every organization can take to tighten operations and improve security. First, we recommend prioritizing system updates and patching any software that hasn’t been addressed. Outdated security tools and antivirus programs can leave your network vulnerable, especially as cyber threats evolve. It’s also a good time to review all software licenses—renew any that are set to expire and audit what your team actually uses. You may find opportunities to reduce costs or improve functionality.

Staff transitions are common in the summer, which makes this an ideal time to review user access levels. Make sure former employees no longer have access to sensitive systems and verify that current team members have the right permissions based on their roles. And, if you’re planning any large tech initiatives for the fall, such as server upgrades, hardware replacements, or office expansions, start the conversation now. Proactive planning helps you avoid year-end bottlenecks and positions your team for a strong finish.

Every successful IT strategy starts with a clear understanding of where you are and where you want to go. At IT360, we begin by assessing your infrastructure, listening to your goals, and tailoring recommendations that align with your unique operations. Whether you’re looking to strengthen security, increase efficiency, or prepare for future growth, our team is here to help you build a smarter, stronger technology foundation. Let’s make sure your IT is working as hard as you are. Contact IT360 today to schedule your mid-year check-in—and let’s map out a strategy for success in the months ahead.

Project spotlight:

We recently completed a project for a retail jeweler undergoing a shop floor expansion. With over 50 users or devices relying on a seamless network experience, our team stepped in to assist with critical infrastructure updates. The project included server rack adjustments, new camera and wireless access point installations, printer setups, phone extension renames, and Point of Sale (POS) machine configurations. We also coordinated with the client’s electrician to run necessary network lines. These efforts ensured that both existing and newly installed equipment would function properly in the expanded space. As a result, the client was able to move forward with their growth plans confidently, supported by a reliable and scalable technology foundation.

DId you know?

June is one of the most active months for ransomware attacks. Hackers take advantage of the fact that employees are often distracted or out of office on vacation.

Pro tip:

Stay protected by enabling auto-updates, reviewing your backup systems, and reminding your team not to ignore software patch alerts. A little prevention goes a long way!
